Thyroid blood tests are used to check whether your thyroid gland is functioning correctly.  Thyroid issues are common and can often go unnoticed. Symptoms of thyroid issues can include:

  • Muscle aches/weakness

The thyroid gland produces hormones that regulate the body’s metabolic rate, controlling heart, muscle and digestive function, brain development and bone maintenance.

The thyroid function is usually viewed by looking at your T3, T4 and TSH readings.

When reviewing these, all factors need to be looked at and one of our nurses will be available to explain these in simple terms and in more detail.

  • Who should have a Thyroid test?

    Anyone over the age of 18 who is concerned that they may have a thyroid problem or for those who wish to monitor an existing and diagnosed condition.

  • What tube/vial do I need to fill and how much of it?

    You should fill in two yellow vials with 600ul of blood.

  • What is the best way to have my sample taken

    We suggest initially warming your hands up and doing some gentle hand exercises before taking a sample. We also suggest using either index or ring finger as we found that these have the best blood flow.

  • How do I notify you that I have sent my sample?

    Upon booking, you will receive a unique link  via email that will allow you to provide data on when the sample has been taken. If you have not received this, please contact us via chat or on cs@agilishealth.co.uk

  • What happens once I sent my sample?

    We will process your sample within 72 hrs of receiving it to our lab. Your results will then be reviewed by a doctor and released to you via email and your patient portal.

  • How do I login to my patient portal?

    During your purchase of the test on the Agilis website, we were given access to your account to view your orders and also your online blood test results.

    You can access it by clicking Sign In button located at the top menu of Agilis website.
