Diabetes is a condition that occurs when the levels of blood sugar (glucose) in the body become too high.

An HbA1c test can be used to check for both diabetes or prediabetes (if you are at risk of developing diabetes) in adults.  If you already have diabetes, then an HbA1c test can support you in monitoring both your condition and your glucose levels effectively.

An HbA1c test can be considered as one of the most reliable tests available for diabetes, as it provides an overview of your blood glucose levels over the last 3-6 months, unlike other tests that provide results in real time, which can often be skewed by different foods consumed.

  • What tube/vial do I need to fill and how much of it?-0

    You should fill in a lilac vial between the levels of 250-500ul with blood.

  • What is the best way to have my sample taken

    We suggest initially warming your hands up and doing some gentle hand exercises before taking a sample. We also suggest using either index or ring finger as we found that these have the best blood flow.

  • How do I notify you that I have sent my sample?

    Upon booking, you will receive a unique link  via email that will allow you to provide data on when the sample has been taken. If you have not received this, please contact us via chat or on cs@agilishealth.co.uk

  • What happens once I sent my sample?

    We will process your sample within 72 hrs of receiving it to our lab. Your results will then be reviewed by a doctor and released to you via email and your patient portal.

  • How do I login to my patient portal?

    During your purchase of the test on the Agilis website, we were given access to your account to view your orders and also your online blood test results.

    You can access it by clicking Sign In button located at the top menu of Agilis website.
